amamoy2 Posted May 8, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 8, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Been trying to find one and they seem rarer than pixie dust. Are they actually trickling in? Looks like there are tons of 50 APOs out there now used. Wonder if we will see the same pattern over the next year or so..... Anybody have any insight into production volume or what realistic wait times will be?
Advertisement Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Hi amamoy2, Take a look here Are there any m35 APO summicrons out there....??. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wdahab Posted May 8, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 8, 2023 They are definitely trickling in, but slowly. I got mine last summer after about a 3 month wait, but from a pre-order at a shop that I thought was less likely to be inundated with pre-orders. The bigger the store, the more likely you'll be waiting years.
Jeff S Posted May 8, 2023 Share #3 Posted May 8, 2023 Call smaller dealers. Jeff
M9reno Posted May 8, 2023 Share #4 Posted May 8, 2023 I got mine in October, by checking the website of Aperture in London on a frequent (several-times-a-day) basis.
IMAGEPOWER Posted May 8, 2023 Share #5 Posted May 8, 2023 (edited) I got mine in Stuttgart Leica Store November 2022. I went into the store and wanted to ask how many months I would probably have to stay on the their waiting list when I would sign that day. As it were they had just two APO 35 got into the store that same morning, so one APO left the store in my bag. According to my dealer they arrive in very erratic intervals. SJH Posted May 9, 2023 Share #6 Posted May 9, 2023 Luckily I got one on day one but depending where you are they come into stock in 1’s and 2’s at the in country stores, so I suggest that you put your email address in against the lens, for when it comes into stock, you’ll then have about 15-30 seconds to hit ‘order’. They do come up but at the moment I think it’s rather like maybe one or two per month max at each regions Leica store.
amamoy2 Posted May 9, 2023 Author Share #7 Posted May 9, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well I just spoke w Leica Store Amsterdam and they have 3 in Stock!!!! They may not be willing to ship to US given new Leica policy? Ughh.
nthomas Posted May 9, 2023 Share #8 Posted May 9, 2023 Sure. Just need to be patience. I got mine after waiting approximate 2 months in Taiwan. Much faster than I'd expected initially. Since the Leica will increase the price tag years after years, there should be no harm to put your name on the waiting list.
ken_tanaka Posted May 9, 2023 Share #9 Posted May 9, 2023 I've had terrible results over the years relying on U.S. dealers' "waiting lists" for Leica products. Terrible. I've had much better luck just checking with the Leica main store site for scarce products...which is exactly how I got my 35 APO-Summicron this past January. And several other scarce products in the years prior. So consider that avenue if you don't have a cozy personal relationship with a dealer.
Jeff S Posted May 10, 2023 Share #10 Posted May 10, 2023 (edited) On the very infrequent occasions when I’ve wanted an item that still had year long wait lists at well known dealers, I’ve had no trouble finding one within a few days by calling small US Leica dealers. Go where others typically don’t… repeatedly if necessary; timing and perseverance. I have no interest in these close focusing lenses, however, so that’s one less person calling these small shops. Otherwise I prefer to build dealer relationships over time. Not typically being an early adopter, the wait is not problematic. steveBK Posted May 10, 2023 Share #11 Posted May 10, 2023 If you're in the US (especially northeast) & looking for a 35 APO, call Bergen County Camera. I'm waiting on an FLE II myself, but was offered one that just came in this morning if I was interested (I passed).

RMF Posted June 5, 2023 Share #15 Posted June 5, 2023 They are also occasionally available on Leica Camera USA’s site. Saw one there this afternoon.
