egrossman Posted April 22, 2023 Share #3 Posted April 22, 2023 Hello David. As soon as I saw Box Hill in the title I clicked on this as I attended Box Hill School as a child! Nice capture. Erik
David Cantor Posted April 22, 2023 Author Share #4 Posted April 22, 2023 Hello Erik, the school is still there but I know very little about it but it looks superb with great playing fields. Just along the A24 towards Dorking is a car park with a cafe that is very popular with bikers especially in fine weather. Glad to bring back memories. David I remember reading in the Times ranking of UK schools that it ranked towards the bottom of almost 500 schools! I spent a few years at this boarding school while my dad was in the US foreign service living in countries with less than ideal education systems. Erik Sorry about the school's ranking, I don't know where it stands today. Although I live just 10 minutes drive away, I have never heard of anyone educating a child there as a day pupil. There's another school quite close which is similar but specialising in British kids with parents serving abroad. It is just a short walk from where I lived but never considered sending either of my sons there, convenient but that's all. There are some very good schools nearby, St John's in Leatherhead is excellent but it's always a quandary where to send the children. David
