dpitt Posted April 25, 2023 Share #21 Β Posted April 25, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I decided a while ago to buy any adapter from now on to the M mount. So any of my lenses will be useable on the M (with EVF). Then all I have to buy is a good M - L adapter for the SL and the same for my other bodies. I now use URTH adapters for M-Z and M-MFT (Nikon and Lumix) and have a Novoflex M-L for the SL. I must say that even if the Novoflex is more expensive, it has a bit of play (when my M lens is mounted) more than I experience on the URTH. On the URTH the M lenses feel rock solid like they do on the Leica M9.
Advertisement Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Hi dpitt, Take a look here L mount zoom vs. R mount zoom. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dpitt Posted April 25, 2023 Share #22 Β Posted April 25, 2023 I am a bit confused about the EXIF data when using adapters: When using M-L adapters other than Leica's, you are able to choose a lens profile and it is used in camera, but EXIF lens data is not written to the file (not even the profile you have chosen) When using a Leica M-L adapter, stacking a R adapter from third party, you can choose a profile but same as with the M profiles the choice is not written to the EXIF data. Even when using the Leica R-M adapter (the one with just 6-bit coding and no electronic link)? To get EXIF/ROM data with R lenses your only option is to use the Leica expensive R-L adapter? What happens with 3-cam R lenses? Is the profile you choose written to the EXIF data? For those of you who have the Leica adapters, please verify and confirm what happens in the EXIF data.
