Does anyone who uses a half case for their M11 use a back cover with the case?  Several of the major companies that make cases (Arte di Mano, Oberwerth and Luigi) also make companion back covers.  I have always used half cases on my M cameras but never the back cover.  There is one made for my case but I'm wondering if it is worth it...or is it more trouble than it is worth?

@MEB Pop the cover in place when carrying your M11 for protection of the rear screen and buttons, pop it off and stick it in your pocket when you are ready to shoot.  I can't see how that would be much trouble at all.

I have thought that the back covers that are permanently sewn in place at the base and have a snap at the top would be annoying, though.  If you undo the top snap, the cover flap would be hanging down over your mouth as you are trying to shoot.  That would be annoying.

Herr Barnack-Thanks.  My in-artfully drafted question was really do those who have half case backs find them to be superfluous and ultimately stop using them or are they glad that they have one.

I also have the Oberwerth M11 case with magnetic back cover - and like it a lot. Camera is protected in the bag (with stuff flying around), protected when wearing on strap against metal zippers and buttons. Easily removed when no protection is needed and/or in shooting mode.

On my Q2 I have a Luigi Case with a back that you can let hang down. But I hate it as it is always in my way. On the M11 I bought the Leica case. Thus one has no rear "for" and I love it.

But sometimes I think that I shouldn't have bought any case . . .
