I recently got one of these. I like to use ultrawide but only occassionally so I wanted something super light. I got it for architecture/cityscape, also to have some extra room for perspective correction. SL2-S with Sigma 17mm, Helsinki University Library (these have been cropped a little for better composition)

And pretty decent results shooting the stars and northern lights, even if it is only f/4. This was on a trip to Lapland - I shoot astro pretty rarely so did not want to buy a huge prime that I would only use once or twice a year. Plus my 24-90mm gives me f/2.8, has super quality for astro and gets used for weather-proof winter landscapes for the rest of the trip.

15 secs, f/4, ISO 6400

+1 - can't agree more. SL24-90 @24mm, wide open, is very, very good for astro photography, although the lens may not be recognised accordingly. Among the best I have tested.

I took the 17mm Sigma to the summer cottage last weekend, because there was a chance to get a clear sky and some northern lights. Here is a shot I took earlier in the evening. I'm really happy how this lens performs when the scene calls for a UWA. It can be tricky to compose at 17mm but I love how this one turned out.
