Advertisement Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Hi Planetwide, Take a look here Sigma 17mm F4 L-Mount. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Alberti Posted April 4, 2023 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2023 This WA really looks good and the new 50mm F2 has that fantastic separation (pop) that is becoming more important than bokeh for me.

hoolyproductions Posted January 27, 2024 Share #6 Posted January 27, 2024 I recently got one of these. I like to use ultrawide but only occassionally so I wanted something super light. I got it for architecture/cityscape, also to have some extra room for perspective correction. hoolyproductions Posted February 5, 2024 Share #9 Posted February 5, 2024 (edited) And pretty decent results shooting the stars and northern lights, even if it is only f/4. This was on a trip to Lapland - I shoot astro pretty rarely so did not want to buy a huge prime that I would only use once or twice a year. Plus my 24-90mm gives me f/2.8, has super quality for astro and gets used for weather-proof winter landscapes for the rest of the trip. 15 secs, f/4, ISO 6400 Welcome, dear visitor! SL24-90 @24mm, wide open, is very, very good for astro photography, although the lens may not be recognised accordingly. Among the best I have tested.
ruskkyle Posted February 15, 2024 Share #11 Posted February 15, 2024 Does anyone have examples of this lens shot on a CL or in APS-C mode? Thanks
hoolyproductions Posted February 15, 2024 Share #12 Posted February 15, 2024 No but I'll keep it in mind (APS-C mode on my SL2-S). Or you could just crop the pictures above 😀 I recall that Christopher Frost (youtube) did a review of the lens on Sony cameras and investigated sharpness/resolution with both full frame and APS-C - it's one of the reasons I bought the lens. hoolyproductions Posted August 20, 2024 Share #14 Posted August 20, 2024 (edited) I took the 17mm Sigma to the summer cottage last weekend, because there was a chance to get a clear sky and some northern lights. Here is a shot I took earlier in the evening. I'm really happy how this lens performs when the scene calls for a UWA. It can be tricky to compose at 17mm but I love how this one turned out. hoolyproductions Posted August 20, 2024 Share #18 Posted August 20, 2024 I would like something a little faster than f4 - on the other hand I only get a chance to do astro stuff a handful of times per year and these are quite ok!
