vir2l2k Posted April 1, 2023 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) hi all, is there anything I'm missing, the flash q will only fire if the video light is on, not if it's not? I think it was working before now it doesn't. transmitter is on and flash def. fires, but just not without the video light on mode...

invisibleAnts Posted April 5, 2024 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2024 Hi there! I can’t get my FlashQ Q20ii to flash unless the video modeling light is on. (The blue mode.) Help?
jaapv Posted April 5, 2024 Share #4 Posted April 5, 2024 Despite the optimistic description this flash is not compatible with Leica. The only flashes that are fully compatible with Leica are Leica branded ones. Flashes that sync over the central contact will usually work in automatic or manual mode, without things like auto zoom, TTL, etc and may malfunction through the communication contacts.
thegobi Posted April 5, 2024 Share #5 Posted April 5, 2024 Curious — maybe this is an intermittent fault? Mines works fine… I never expected it to be ‘compatible’ at all though— I always regarded it as a dumb manual flash and it works pretty well at that. I vaguely remember there being different versions of this flash for different cameras. Mine is just the bog standard manual one. Maybe that’s the difference? Just to be clear: on the switch that says: normal S1 S2 Modeling …you are setting it to ‘normal’ and it isn’t working any more?
jhun161 Posted May 11 Share #6 Posted May 11 (edited) I read some because of the position of the wireless trigger of flash being backward and didn't perfectly fit the pin to the contact of hotshoe, or it happened to me earlier today, it disconnected to my leica m11 then I push and hold the two buttons on the trigger then it will blink blue while the flash itself also turn the LED lights on the back blue same as the trigger then it will reset state, then I can use it no problem. that's the two solution to the problem. I hope this will work. also the flash is not TTL, only manual use. Edited May 11 by jhun161
