Le Chef Posted March 26, 2023 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Out of curiosity how many users here have checked the option to show when clipping is likely to occur?
Advertisement Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 Hi Le Chef, Take a look here Clipping. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted March 26, 2023 Share #2 Posted March 26, 2023 (edited) Yes - I use the histogram, but the clipping shows exactly which parts of the image are at risk - it it's just the sun, lamps, or specular reflections then I know whether to be worried or not. jaapv Posted March 26, 2023 Share #3 Posted March 26, 2023 Exactly. Not when, that is the histogram, but where.
Aitor Posted September 12, 2024 Share #4 Posted September 12, 2024 I have it enabled, I think it's a very good option. My Canon R6 doesn't have it and I already miss it.
Ad Dieleman Posted September 12, 2024 Share #5 Posted September 12, 2024 I have it enabled, but I only check on it in extreme contrast situations which the highlight-weighted exposure mode may not be able to handle.
JNK100 Posted September 12, 2024 Share #6 Posted September 12, 2024 I have this enabled too which I find helpful in some situations
Camaro5 Posted September 13, 2024 Share #7 Posted September 13, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use it often and adjust with exposure compensation according to the histogram, mostly for skies. I've started using spot metering more with the AE-L function and that seems to balance the overall exposure a little better.
