Recently I upgraded my mm and though for sale, I did not sold the old one yet.

One side it makes sense to sell the old one, why have two mm’s, the other hand, the old one was my first (real) m.

For those with multiple mm’s:

- why?

- based on what do you decide which one to use?

- do you take them with you together?

- having two, obviously each get used less, isn’t that a pity?

thanks for feedback, Olaf

I like to take my M8 and M9 toegether. Both fitted with the choice of lens of the day. The M8 is essentially a crop sensor of the M9 so you could ask why keep both:

  1. I do not like to swap lenses in the field. So I usually take a longer lens on the M8 (it is cropped anyway) and a wider one on the M9.
    90 - 40 or 50 - 21 are one of my favorite combo's.
  2. The M8 is my first M and will always be special to me
  3. The M8 has IR sensitivity and is great for B&W, it is my poor man's MM

If you do not need the money I would advise to keep it and try taking both for a while. I can fit both my M's with lens mounted in a small bag like the Lowepro Adventure TLZ 20 III. On holidays I take my extra lenses and bodies in a larger bag, and each day fit the best combo to take them for a walk in the small Lowepro.
