luigi bertolotti Posted November 3, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2007 Mmmhhhh... nice customization... warranty still valid ? Anyway, another reason to prefer the silver M8 to the black one...

erl Posted November 4, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 4, 2007 Nothing like a bit of "fashion" to provoke the ladies to comment! NB. Is that a magenta cushion the gorgeous model is reposing on, or did you leave the IR cut filter off?

coolfonzies Posted November 4, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted November 4, 2007 Thanks! I'm really happy with it. The cushions are black, but it was shot with my wife's C-lux 2! ps. Recovering won't void the warranty, and Morgan will replace it if Leica has to remove the new material during service.
nryn Posted November 4, 2007 Share #7 Posted November 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My goodness that's beautiful. I'd do the same if I didn't just order a second Luigi case.
Daniel Ortego Posted November 4, 2007 Share #8 Posted November 4, 2007 Very nice, I’m guessing that’s Morgan’s Mahogany Kid Skin? Regards,

ken_tanaka Posted November 4, 2007 Share #13 Posted November 4, 2007 Incredible. Only on a Leica.
blakley Posted November 4, 2007 Share #14 Posted November 4, 2007 I recommend Morgan and cameraleather.com highly - I've re-covered 4 of my M's through him - an M3 in green, another M3 in lavender lizard, an M2 in grey lizard, and an MP in pink ("coral"). Wonderful quality coverings for a fair price.
marknorton Posted November 4, 2007 Share #15 Posted November 4, 2007 There's no doubt in my mind that the chrome body provides a better blank canvas to recover the camera and it looks even better with chrome lenses. How does it look with black lenses? With a black camera, the range of options is much more limited. I'm waiting for Morgan to send me a kit to do this myself on my long-suffering 3105477 camera, though being black, I've played safe and gone for black kid skin. I'm also recovering the grip which is covered in the same material as the camera itself. I think Morgan's prices are very reasonable, considering the material costs rather less than Leica charge for a lens hood.
carstenw Posted November 4, 2007 Share #16 Posted November 4, 2007 That's real nice. I'm thinking alligator hide! Haha, that's even its own joke, that statement (and a recommendation to the alligator).

jrc Posted November 4, 2007 Share #20 Posted November 4, 2007 That has a very nice pre-war Bentley-touring-car look about it, like it should come with it's own dedicated picnic basket... 8-) But a black camera would be a problem. JC
