Battery use in Leica MP analogue

I have two  MP (analogue) one eats the exposure meter batteries almost in hours, in the other, older model, the batteries lasts for months. any advice would be welcome,

...need a bit more on this to be able to form or proffer an opinion. For example, were both MPs purchased brand new?

And how you use the cameras as well, do they have soft releases fitted for example, these can exaggerate battery drain because some brands screw in deep enough to trigger the metering switch in the shutter release. Does either have a case, do you use different types of bag for each camera where one has more room than the other if you forget to set the dial on 'B/OFF', and so on.
