smgorsch Posted November 5, 2007 Share #34 Posted November 5, 2007 Impressive displays all -- I need help, whenever I push beyond ISO 640, the results are almost entirely ruined for color and mostly for B&W as a consequence of excess noise. True even with maximal noise reduction in Aperture. How do you all get such smooth results at high ISOs? Thanks Stefan

True even with maximal noise reduction in Aperture. How do you all get such smooth results at high ISOs? Thanks Stefan i personally don't shoot over 640 and rarely over 320. I never liked fast film and I don't think the m8 is very good over 640 at this time. but I fully agree with Reiner about the exposure. A correct exposure is far less noisy that a poorly metered shot. Shots with alot of blue in them tend to be much noisier as well. now alot of people disagree with me and shoot at 1250 with decent results sometimes using noise ninja or other software fixes. True even with maximal noise reduction in Aperture. How do you all get such smooth results at high ISOs? Thanks Stefan Well I get good results at 1250, not so with 2500 but OK if I really need it. Here's a shot from a Halloween party in a parking lot of a market. One light shining down from light poll. White balance was the tougher then the noise. Welcome, dear visitor! The only NR was through ACR 4.2 and on the Luminance channel, the stock setting for the M8 which I think is 25.
