jhluxton Posted November 2, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted November 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since buying a V-Lux 1 earlier this year my summer 2004 bought D2 hasn't seen quite as much use - though is brought out when a 28mm view is required. Â Anticipating a need for it tomorrow - powered it up this evening and to my dismay found the viewfinder and screen image all streaky and grainy with the image vitually none existant. It was fine when I last used it in August. Â The photos taken just looked like the image on the screen / EVF. Â I am in the UK - so presume its a case of send it to Milton Keynes? Anyone had experience of how quick turnround is? Â John
Advertisement Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Hi jhluxton, Take a look here Presume my D2 Sensor has died ... ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted November 3, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted November 3, 2007 It's said to be a problem with corrosion inside the sensor, so while your camera has been laid up, the chemicals have been at work. Â Hasn't happened to mine yet, I understand the turnaround is a few weeks.
foresthill Posted November 4, 2007 Share #3  Posted November 4, 2007 Mine has just done same but in regulat use. 6 week free-fixing turnaround - or offer of D3 for £895 and they keep old camera.  Too much for me - I'm going to ask for the free fix

However, it did spend a couple of cold nights in the boot of my car since then and wonder if that finally saw it off ? - though it was in a camera bag.  John
