Rolo Posted November 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) At Salford Art Gallery UK at 2pm on Saturday 3rd November, LUF Member 'Dave the Grave' will be giving a prepared presentation on the enthralling subject of shooting cemetaries in the twilight hours to the invited audience. In addition to my talk on the practical aspects of grave robbing in the Twenty First Century Manchester, it's anticipated that Pete On Wheels will describe how he resussitates images that are well past their sell-by date and Stunsworth will demonstrate a digital camera that's not fit for purpose. Falstaf is definitely chauferring me to the event and is later open to questions about how Leica's M7 updated bar coding system changed his life for the better. Ivan the Clock can't escape from Valletta open prison, but there's a rumour that Celebrity Moderator Lord Birken-Head will make an appearance. Entry is free for LUF members and double helpings of macaroons provided to those that make the effort to support our brother. Salford UK, 2pm - be there, be seen. Advertisement Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Hi Rolo, Take a look here International Meet - Salford. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted November 2, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 2, 2007 Given the quality (and quantity) of cake present at the opening last week, I'll be starving myself until the day arrives - hang on it's only tomorrow. I will indeed bring the camera that shames us all, and I may indeed even take a snap of two this time.

Falstaff Posted November 2, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 2, 2007 Rolo wrote "Falstaf is definitely chauferring me to the event" First I've heard of this. I had better get my drivers suit and cap cleaned seeing that he likes travelling and arriving in style. Falstaff

stunsworth Posted November 3, 2007 Share #7 Posted November 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) What a pleasant afternoon it's been. Eating lots of cake and listening to Dave explain how he made the photographs at his exhibition. Many thanks to Sarah for the former, and Dave for the latter. And here thanks to the 'camera that shames us all' is a photograph of Mr D taken during his presentation. Notice how we manages to multi-task with ease. Taking a question from the floor, while sending a not so subliminal message to the photographer. M8, Noctilux at f1.4 if anyone is interested. stunsworth Posted November 3, 2007 Share #8 Posted November 3, 2007 That should of course be "he manages" in the above post, not 'we manages'. Here's a colour one - same camera, lens and aperture.
elansprint72 Posted November 3, 2007 Share #9 Posted November 3, 2007 Bugger! I missed this due to being on a prior commission to photograph Blackpool before it is totally demolished by Lord Barton of Burton. Two fingers are better than one.
DTD Posted November 3, 2007 Share #10 Posted November 3, 2007 Thank gawd she only did cake for 5,000. Didn't even realise the subliminal messaging – Mrs Dave says I do that a lot BTW it was very nice to see you all again especially as no Leica's were hurt in the making of this exhibition)
elansprint72 Posted November 3, 2007 Share #11 Posted November 3, 2007 Speaking of sell-by-dates, I've just exhumed this gem, which captures not only the three prime suspects but also a mendacious macaroon reference. Strangely, no matter what Photoshop trickery I throw at it, the head of he_who_must_not_be_seen remains a blinding white. I can only conclude that the sun does, in fact, shine out of him. stunsworth Posted November 3, 2007 Share #12 Posted November 3, 2007 As Ricky Tomlinson would say, "The best macaroons in the world my arse" After sampling the wares on three different occasions I can now say with confidence that "Mrs Dave" is the world's best cake cooker. Dave, if you want prints of the shots I took today let me know and I'll post them to you.

elansprint72 Posted November 4, 2007 Share #14 Posted November 4, 2007 Oy vey! She bakes bread too already; she has any unmarried sisters yet? An angel, not a woman.
