stuny Posted August 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2006 Bill - Perhaps its due to the depth of this shot, but it is one of the best RR shots I've seen in quite some time.

moikle Posted August 21, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 21, 2006 How do I convince my wife that we should holiday in the USA and spend most of our time photographing railways?.........Dearest......I have a little proposition for you......... Super photo, love the little shunting (switching?) engine to the right and those great industrial buldings. Mike
square_one Posted August 22, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 22, 2006 Bill - This is a truly fascinating image. At first glance it starts sliding by as hum-drum, then sucks you in with it's wonderful detail and "broadness". There is sentiment and juxtaposition all over the place....and it's Real. The commuter train shadow moves and demands attention to all the lesser shadows, I smell the old, dry dust of the parking areas and rights-of-way, even hear the yard diesel's low idle. The tall,"roundy" elevators set off the linear, attacking rails quite nicely - and the plain-jane sky tells it like it is. I would think you're very pleased with this one.
