Advertisement Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Hi carylwithay, Take a look here SD cards - 4g SD cards. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mmanzz Posted October 30, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2007 My two cents worth: Hi, i use the regular blue boxed sandisk 2gb. As speed is not really an issue on M8s I go with the old reliable. They are very cheap and for the moment, all i need is two. The bigger your sd card the more you put your eggs in one basket. On my Nikon equipment i had used the SD Extreme but i don't see that as a requirement for the Leica.
hdrmd Posted October 30, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 30, 2007 2.0G SanDisk ExtremeIII works well for me. Reliable, Fast; I haven't tried the 4 G cards yet. DR
stunsworth Posted October 30, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 30, 2007 I use a Transcend 150x 4 gig card without any problem. Around 380 RAW images per card. Note that SDHC cards don't currently work with the M8. Support is promised in a future firmware upgrade.

wparsonsgisnet Posted October 30, 2007 Share #7 Posted October 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am using 4GB Transcend 150x cards, but you may want to wait until the next release of M8 firmware. One guy has said that the next release should handle SDHC cards. I am waiting to buy any more cards until IT speaks to SDHC.
AGeoJO Posted October 30, 2007 Share #8 Posted October 30, 2007 I am also using Transcend 150X 4GB SD cards; they are getting rare and tough to find now. Most SD cards are now HC and until Leica upgrades the firmware to be compatible with HC, the choice is kind of limited.
orjanf Posted October 30, 2007 Share #9 Posted October 30, 2007 Have 3 Transcend 150x 4G SD - no problems of any kind
4season Posted October 30, 2007 Share #10 Posted October 30, 2007 The problem with 4 gigabyte non-HD cards is that the SD card spec only covered capacities up to 2 gigabytes, so these are non-standard beasts, and there's no promise they will work on newer SDHC-compatible devices. wparsonsgisnet Posted October 30, 2007 Share #11 Posted October 30, 2007 They are also slower to write to. In my case, with the Transcend 4GB 150x cards, it takes twice as long to write to them in comparison with Ridata 2GB 150x cards. I always capture both a hi-res jpg + dng. When I'm shooting actively, I use the 2GB cards.
Hacker Posted October 31, 2007 Share #12 Posted October 31, 2007 I am also using Transcend 150X 4GB SD cards; they are getting rare and tough to find now. Quite bountiful here. About US$100 each. Got one today.
