Me too as a purchaser. May be the hot shoe could be only for cable contact. Consider also to put some softy pad behind the shoe placed over the viewfinder of the camera not to harm the top and to bring a more solid set to the accessories.

Cheers,

Francisco.

FYI

Relative to the voightlander double shoe, I believe the best one to use is the "A" model.

I have attached a photo of my M8 with the "A" model on it using a viewfinder and level.

Tim - you may want to look at this spacing for the cold shoe variation. It works well with a viewfinder and level. I understand it would not be correct for a hot shoe variation as it does not leave enough room for a flash. In the cold shoe variation, it works very nicely with the LCD on the left side of the camera.

Best,

Ray

PS.: The picture was taken with my D300 at ISO 3200 f5.6 1/40s and only resizing of the RAW file. Lens used was the Zeiss 50 2.0 ZF Macro and using the focus confirmation light.

Hello,

Just add on an used accessory shoe, for the use of a viewfinder, using my milling machine to index the holes to be drilled (1.5mm) and threaded (2mm).
