I recently purchased a brand newLEICA MA, and noticed the shutter speed dial feels a bit wobbly; as in when it's locked to a desired shutter speed, you can still fiddle (left to right) on the dial with ur finger (when it should be fully static/locked), is that normal, I have an M6 & and an MP, none of them display such issue

There was no play in my MP or M-A. But my new MP had a very stiff and crooked rewind knob (not too big of concern). Just sent the new MP back due to faulty light meter, so I’ll check my next one that arrives.

I also had a loose shutter speed dial and it was moving every time I fired the shutter. I had to take the shutter speed dial off and tighten the cross/ Philips screw as seen in this picture. This fixed my issue.

It's a brand new camera so this is a 50/50 decision whether to be slightly brave or return it, I would imagine returns generate reports to Leica about what they've screwed up otherwise they'll never know. So if you go ahead be sure to use the exact size screwdriver for both the screw on the dial and the screw underneath. But it's good to see a forum member @69xchange just getting on and doing a simple job. Outrage is always caused if advocating DIY jobs on Leica's and there seems to be a fetish for sending them back, so for the record no it shouldn't be loose, but life is what it is and a good set of screwdrivers is empowering.
