biogon44 Posted February 6, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a Daron 50mm f2.9 lens in interrupted Leica screw mount for the Ilford Witness rangefinder camera. Only about 160 were made. Was this lens made by Dallmeyer of England? I would like to know.
Advertisement Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Hi biogon44, Take a look here Daron Lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted February 6, 2023 Share #2 Posted February 6, 2023 It's surely a Dallmeyer design and brand name... I don't know if the one provided with the Witness was actually manufactured in Germany or England... but even if this is a Leica Forum there is surely someone here (Wlaidlaw, to name one) who knows something about. dkCambridgeshire Posted February 10, 2023 Share #3 Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) Not a Dallmeyer lens. Made by Northern Scientific in Bolton https://www.macfilos.com/2017/06/13/2017-6-11-ilford-witness-how-bolton-almost-became-the-wetzlar-of-england/ Pics in this article taken by myself and TLF member John Dodkins And i posted an Ilford Witness photo-essay on TLF 16 years ago: https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/26888-ilford-witness-dallmeyer-septac-2-f15/#comment-288029BW, dunk Edited February 10, 2023 by dkCambridgeshire 1
