ILeicIt Posted February 2, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, Just wanted a quick bit of advice. Was going to upgrade my M-E M240 to a used M10, but i’ve found a deal on an M10-P brand new from an approved dealer for £4500. My original budget was going to be max £3500 and also dependent on what i could get for the M-E, but this seems too good to pass over? I guess I could sell on if I needed the money at a later date, but it’s not clear to me what a new M10-P would go for. Anyway, suppose I’m just after a push in either direction, analysis paralysis has set in! All the best and thanks!
Advertisement Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Hi ILeicIt, Take a look here Is this a good deal??. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
newtoleica Posted February 2, 2023 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2023 I've been looking at used M10P s - they are in the 4,750-5000 region currently when they come up. A new one for £4500 is a very good deal. I would be after that....
84bravo Posted February 2, 2023 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2023 It's a very good deal. That said, there is very little functional difference between the M10 and M10-P. The file specs are exactly the same.
Nimar Posted February 2, 2023 Share #4 Posted February 2, 2023 Bit random but speaking of good deals I just came across these and ordered one https://digitalback.com/collections/leica/products/leica-thumb-support black thumb grip, around half price. Touchscreen, Level Gauge, Quieter Shutter. https://www.reddotforum.com/content/2018/08/leica-m10-p-nearly-silent-shutter-touchscreen/
mujk Posted February 5, 2023 Share #8 Posted February 5, 2023 A very good deal. I assume it comes with full warranty?

However, after much deliberation, i’ve decided I’m going to conserve the pennies. I can’t justify replacing my M240 M-E at the moment as there are other priorities. I could have flipped it for a profit, but im not sure how disciplined I’d be, nor what price I’d get. Im going to quench my thirst by picking up the CV 35mm 1.4, whilst improving what I can do with the current camera.
newtoleica Posted February 6, 2023 Share #10 Posted February 6, 2023 So did you flip it or return it? Tell us the dealer?

Didn’t buy it in the end as I was unsure what I could have flipped it for and I don’t trust myself to sell, once it’s in my hands! However, I’m flying to London & Manchester this week and will look to see what I can get for my M-E TYP240 whilst back in the UK. I’ve seen 2 examples on the auction site that are going for upward of 3K, clearly can’t be right. But maybe it will be enough that I can close the gap to afford a used M10 or M246. The dealer Im referring to is in Cape Town.
newtoleica Posted February 6, 2023 Share #12 Posted February 6, 2023 ah ok. Best deal I’ve seen in the Uk is 5k.
ILeicIt Posted February 24, 2023 Author Share #13 Posted February 24, 2023 Well, I flip-flopped a fair bit but finally took the plunge on the M10-P. The deal was just too good to pass on! Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the M240. 😎😎 Thanks for the advice
