BrettWayne Posted January 25, 2023 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Howdy, hoping on a getting a Q2M and doing panoramas using a nodal shift bracket. Curious if that nodal point is marked on the lens ? Thanks!
Advertisement Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Hi BrettWayne, Take a look here Q2 - nodal point marked on the lens?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
blakley Posted January 29, 2023 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2023 There is no nodal point marking on the Q2M lens barrel.
blakley Posted January 29, 2023 Share #3 Posted January 29, 2023 Incidentally, and you may already know this (but maybe others reading this don't), the point you really want is the entrance pupil, which isn't (usually) the same as either of the nodal points - even though it's often called the nodal point. Qwertynm Posted December 31, 2023 Share #5 Posted December 31, 2023 So… has anyone more insight? What’s the distance between front lens element and entrance pupil?
David Wien Posted December 31, 2023 Share #6 Posted December 31, 2023 (edited) Do a Google search on how to determine this by simple experimentation. There are plenty of ways and many sites with information. David Edited December 31, 2023 by David Wien
Qwertynm Posted January 1, 2024 Share #7 Posted January 1, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wow, never thought of that, thanks David. I already did try to determine the entrance pupil myself using the method in the link above. I'm not sure if I did it right and was wondering where OP calculated or measured the entrance pupil. I believe it might be close to behind the aperture adjust ring on the lens. Let me know where you'd put it. Thanks
David Wien Posted January 1, 2024 Share #8 Posted January 1, 2024 I found the suggestions on this site most useful, though I havent put them into practice with the Q lens yet. David
