geotrupede Posted January 14, 2023 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here is a selection of work including M11 and MM1, a bit of a curiosity as it shows that it is possible to get the same / very similar look. I love the M11, it is really light and quick, when one says it can be a pocket camera, for the first time this is true: using the MS optical 24 the whole is lighter than an M10 with a 35, and mounting a flash too! Operationally, the M11 has some good features, the live view, the burst, buffer issues are never to be experienced, battery is immortal, etc. six month in, very happy. There are some bugs here and there but nothing too bad (for example the small buffer of MM1 is more of an issue than the wrong code for the lens, at least for me. ). https://www.japancamerahunter.com/2023/01/get-featured-giulio-antonutto/ Regards to all. alksv Posted January 14, 2023 Share #4 Posted January 14, 2023 Wonderful series! So tactile and gritty. It's actually a bit funny that it's posted here since gear (whether it's an M11 or M15) didn't really matter, it's all you – the author.
Jeff S Posted January 14, 2023 Share #5 Posted January 14, 2023 Will you keep the MM? Jeff
geotrupede Posted January 14, 2023 Author Share #6 Posted January 14, 2023 MM1.... not used since the M11, an admission of guilt. But I cannot think of selling it. The M11 offers really many 'practical' features that the MM1 has not. Previously I had the MM1 and M9 and loved the consistency of the interface between the two, and, when needed, I had the best BW files available. Now, I have only one camera which is used for both BW and colour, probably like 90% of the people out there I got used to converting files. Importing in c1 allows to use a style right from the start, which then obliterates colours in the editing portion of the work. It is not the same thing as the MM1 chip, of course, but the interface and experience of the camera is so much more refined that it is difficult to go back. I did not expect this to make me forget about the excellence of the files. It is always a balance of many things. After many years I can take out the MM1, it feels very natural, files are the best, but when buffer kicks in, the heavy body (which used to feel light), etc. Used to be my favourite camera ever until M11.
