Hello

can anyone pls advise what size screwdriver I would need to buy to unscrew the pictured MP part ?

also would unscrewing this part then enable the whole of the baseplate release lever part (internal/external) to be easily DIY replaced/swapped, with one from another MP baseplate?

Thanks very much

Size # 0 is a snug fit.

What's the problem? From the photo the there is something that looks a little odd about the catch, in that the leading edge of the lip (at the top in the photo) looks like it isn't bent up slightly to help it engage with the corresponding lip on the body. But it could just be the angle of the photo. Usually that bit shows a tip of bright metal after only a few films. I would expect the screw is held with some weak thread lock so press the screwdriver in and turn with a large but gentle force.

Thanks Steve.

I’ll check that, although I loaded a film just after taking this photo so can’t do so right now.

There’s no operational problem, it would be a purely cosmetic change since I’d like to keep this lever if I replace the plate, which I’m considering due to a mishap.   (This is a black paint lever from a la carte and replacement BP baseplates have chrome).

Do you know if the whole lever mechanism part just drops out (internal and external) once this screw is removed ? I have a spare m10 baseplate I can try on now I know which screwdriver to buy

Just make sure you set them down in the right order of disassembly.
Another image I found in my old M3 repair manual that confirms the theory of everything coming out.

Thanks, it does indeed.  What do the 3 circles indicate on a diagram such as this ? ( Seen in relation to part 42-253.01-752 as well as 2 others )
