On close inspection side light is somewhat unflattering to the bride as it reveals bags under the eye, i suppose it was a long day and every one is getting worn out, not to mention all the alcohol 😉 "Inspecting the Ring" M246 with Summaron M 35mm f2.8. Popular Post eawriter Posted July 19, 2019 Popular Post Share #1164 Posted July 19, 2019 If I ever need a photo to demonstrate one-point perspective, I can use this one. Taken early last Sunday morning, in typical San Francisco summer weather, looking down Pier 7 toward Treasure Island. Welcome, dear visitor! My second right now is M10. Since 1958 I’ve got through nine Ms. With digital, upgrades are speeding up. Having had experience with both the MM1 and the 246, what are the qualities of the final image you like about both? Also if you don't mind, what camera (MM1 or 246) resulted with the final look of the images you liked best?

I appreciate what your saying, but those bags can be easily touched up, but I don't know if you normally take the time to do that type of work or not. That to me is the thing about photography, taking the photos is fun, but it's really work. Editing images is not too bad, but it does take time and can be frustrating sometimes. Then the real work begins...at least for me; the touching up of the final images selected. At least for me that takes the most amount of time, and is the least fun. My post processing skills are rudimentary. I make tonal adjustments in Adobe RAW Editor with final crop and touch up touches in PS CC. i will choose file that require least amount of work, I am aware of all the stuff you can do in PS, took me a while to reach my current rudimentary level. By the way greatly appreciate your comment, food for thought and nudge to try to do the things right.

I never quite managed that on roll film and used to shoot 4x5 TriX to be safe. So the MMs’ quality I like most is, boringly, tonal range - which is what B&W is all about. The images I like best had some lucky combination between structure and the light coming in the window. The MM1 and the 246 did tone, equally well, and the lens did perspective. 2

eawriter Posted July 29, 2019 Share #1173 Posted July 29, 2019 This image is from Up Your Alley, where, according to the event's website, "leather daddies rule the streets of San Francisco's South of Market district." It was held yesterday, on a bright, sunny day, which doesn't make for good color photos at mid-day, but doesn't faze the Monochrom. Welcome, dear visitor! eawriter Posted August 19, 2019 Share #1179 Posted August 19, 2019 I posted an image earlier looking down Pier 7 in San Francisco toward Treasure Island. This is what you see if you turn around and look toward the city. It's a real Kodak Picture Spot no matter which way you turn. BTW, the Transamerica Pyramid straight ahead in this shot is currently for sale. Price tag: $600 million. Welcome, dear visitor!
