This was taken on Malaga scoring the winning goal. Taken with the Voigtlander 35mm f2.5 which flares a lot less than my 35mm Summicron V1 under floodlights. As you can all probably tell this camera is going everywhere with me right now and that looks likely to continue fo rthe forseeable future.
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Slightly off topic, Milosevic speech in 1989 was battle rallying cry, actual foundations of the aggression were set much earlier under he auspices of the Serbian Academy of Science.

Mr Fjeld Posted September 23, 2016 Share #230 Posted September 23, 2016 Had a nice evening with a mate taking pictures after work. The best part of it is wandering around with no special purpose - not looking for a theme or a special kind of photo. Totally relaxed! 6

convexferret Posted September 25, 2016 Share #233 Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) So today was the local half marathon and I thought that I would do some sports photography In reality I was prefocussing with a 50 or 90 and underexposing a lot to hold the highlights. In the end I decided to embrace the contrast of the backlit shots and not try to recover too much shadow. I prefer the drama. All of these images (and a couple I'll upload later) were run through Silver Efex to give them my favoured look. Welcome, dear visitor! Popular Post Giulio Zanni Posted September 28, 2016 Popular Post Share #239 Posted September 28, 2016 (edited) Mitrovica, Kosovo. Typ 246 + R 28mm PC. This monument was built to commemorate the memory of the local Serbian and Albanian fighters who worked at the Trepča mines in Mitrovica who bravely revolted against German occupation, forming the Miner's Troop (Rudarska ceta). During the 1940s, when the region was taken over by invading Axis forces, the Trepca mines were put under German control, head by Hermann Goering, with daily shipments of over 500tons/day of zinc and lead being taken out of the mines and directly shipped to Germany for munitions, armament and supply manufacture. It was not long after this German seizure that these Trepca mine workers revolted against the takeover and collectively formed the organized Partisan-aligned "Miner's Troop" unit to combat and rebel against occupation. This revolt severely impacted Germany's ability to source raw ore for their war effort, not only because this was one of the most productive mines in Eastern Europe, but also because Kosovo mines supplied Germany with more than 40% of their lead ore consumption while also producing the batteries used in the submarine fleets. Through the course of these miners revolt and rebellion against occupying German forces, hundreds of them lost their lives. In order to honour the sacrifice these fighters and their fallen comrades, the Yugoslavian government commissioned a grand monument complex on a hillside (named Miner's Hill) in Mitrovica on the north side of the Ibar River (which splits the city). While planning process for this memorial began in 1959, it was not completed until 1973. The designer chosen for the project was notable Serbian sculptor and designer Bogdan Bogdanović, famed for his WWII monuments at Jasenovec and Mostar. His design for this monument was a massive 19m tall trilith Stonehenge-esque structure, with two massive fluted concrete columns supporting a stylized ore-cart shaped concrete block. The ore-cart block was once sheathed in copper plates, but those have since fallen off or been stolen. In addition, near the base of the monument, there are several limestone cenotaphs in which are interred the remains of fallen soldiers from the 'Miners Troop' unit. After its opening in 1973, it was one of the most popular cultural and historical attractions in the region. Selected as Leica Master Shot in LFI Welcome, dear visitor!
