Mr Fjeld Posted August 24, 2018 Share #2161 Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I think I have too much time on my hands. I looked at the number of posts in this thread since 10 May 2015 vs. the number of total posts in the Monochrom type 2 shots thread since the first on 9 May 2015. 1038 MM vs 867 M246. If anything I would expect more M246 posts because new owners would be more excited to make and post pictures, at least in the beginning. And, no, I didn't look at the slope of the curves over time. Obviously this is multifactorial (# cameras produced/purchased, # owners who subscribe to this forum, subscribing owners who post, etc) but if all else is equal it does kind of suggest more enthusiasm, dare I say passion, in MM1 owners. And I think that is reflected in the qualitative comments in the two threads. I think your arguments are at best speculative or perhaps self serving. For all you know it could just as easily be that M246 buyers are so happy with their cameras that they don't spend time on a forum but rather spend it outside taking photos and put them on walls - or hide them under their sofas if they are inclined to. I love my M246 and I'm quite certain that owners of the MM1 are equally fond of their cameras. Making judgements about which camera owner is more or less enthusiastic about their camera based on argument of having purchased the MM1 or M246 is just.....rubbish. I've read arguments in the Leica Monochrom section of the forum where members dare to suggest that an MM1 is bought with the heart and the M246 with the head, and this is getting a bit tiresome. Perhaps it would be best to have two separate sections so M246 owners could stop fraternizing - because we obviously don't have much in common. mmradman Posted August 24, 2018 Share #2164 Posted August 24, 2018 Lets not turn this into religious schism, M9M and M246 are different cameras which are common in uniqueness of being only dedicated full frame monochromes, RF at that, there are also medium format monochrome backs in existence.

I was just making an observation. In fact, this is an image thread so please disregard my earlier post. I'm not looking to argue with anyone.
