dierk Posted March 12, 2013 Share #544 Posted March 12, 2013 Leica M Monochrom with Summilux 35mm @f/1.4 ASPH FLE after I read the "Writing light letters by the moonlight" from Thorsten Overgaard, I decided to go out in the snow and try it. I need a flashlight for the next time in the darkness. I could not see anything and no focus at all Like Torsten I decided to leave the image very dark to show, how it really was. high ISO, snowing all at ISO 6400 (click) dierk

fotografr Posted March 12, 2013 Share #546 Posted March 12, 2013 Nice, moody series. The first image has some concentric lines evident mostly around the edges in the darker areas. Is this the banding some people have referred to? If so, I wonder how to prevent it. I noticed the rings before and tried to eliminate them, but not good enough. I use the profile all the time and never noticed a problem (because I did not look for it?). I unchecked the profile and the rings are gone. See the result below From where do you have this info or did you find out yourself? dierk here is the new version (hopefully without rings ) Edited March 13, 2013 by dierk
dierk Posted March 13, 2013 Share #555 Posted March 13, 2013 I like the wintery shots Dierk - miss the snow! come here, Dirk, we got plenty after 3 days of snowing :-) here are some more. Again I am impressed, how this Leica glass handles the direct sun, even with filter (heliopan). And a EVF would be great, as I did not see anything on the screen in this light - but with the Monochrom never possible. Leica M Monochrom with Super-Elmar 21mm, red filter click dierk

I unchecked the profile and the rings are gone. See the result below From where do you have this info or did you find out yourself? dierk You're Welcome. I found that myself, playing with my new toy and taking pictures in my kitchen late in the night of the first day. Normaly, more visible with lenses brighter than 50 (the wide angle lenses needing more corrections in the profile) and with high iso setting. That was confirm by somebody later in a report on the LUF blog. ( same things may occure if you try to rotate the image) MfG
