Delfi_r Posted October 17, 2007 Share #2  Posted October 17, 2007 I'm looking for a angle finder to my Digilux 3. Any recommendations? :)  // Peter  Seagull 1x-2x Right Angle Finder for Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Minolta, Fuji, Olympus and Leica SLR cameras   There are other vendors too. As all 4:3 cameras use the same accessories, perhaps there is an Olympus unit.
ptw Posted October 18, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted October 18, 2007 Thanks Delfi_r, Â I have heard different opinions about Seagull (both good & bad). Do you use it yourself? Â Talked too a Leica support center yesterday & they told me that Leica 14300 doesn't go together with the Digilux 3. Have anyone tried Canon's Angle Finder C together with the Digilux 3? jdlaing Posted October 18, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted October 18, 2007 Hoodman makes one that fits and Adorama sells another brand that works as well. I'm told the Hoodman unit is better optically than the latter.......
rougewave Posted October 18, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted October 18, 2007 I'm new to the forum, so excuse me if my form is incorrect. I'm also in search of a right angle finder. Have you had first hand experience with the Hoodman? If, so could you tell us about it in more detail, i.e., light leaks, brightness, focus... if possible. Does anyone know if there is an adaptation for the exisitng R or M Leica right angle finders? Thanks, Ben
Delfi_r Posted October 18, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted October 18, 2007 The Hoodman HRAV has a user review on B+H saying that the unit doesn't fit a Pentax camera. And Olympus, Panasonic or Leica aren't cited so I'll try to find one myself before purchasing it. Â And it's only an adapter problem, not the unit as it's marked better made than the Seagull or the Adorama (not so different form the Seagull unit as it has plastic adapters too). Â In the Adorama page for the Hoodman HRAV, one user says that doesn't fit a Oly500, so....
rougewave Posted October 22, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted October 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought the Hoodman this weekend and used it with my Digilux 3.Mixed resluts. The adapters(Canon 22mm) do fit, but the available light in the viewfinder is halved & the edges are frayed, making the in viewer info tough to read. But in low light or darkness with a tripod, at least you have a chance. Ben
