echorec Posted October 16, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am considering a used DMR and I would love to see some of your pictures taken with it. Everytime I see a DMR picture on this forum I see something very pleasing - a bit like medium format slide film. I´m not as impressed by the M8 pictures I see. I don´t have a digital Leica yet but I do have a 5D with a couple of nice R and Visoflex lenses. Thanks in advance for posting your pictures, Gunnar

robsteve Posted October 17, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 17, 2007 Gunnar: I took these pictures a few weeks after getting my DMR. I have now had the DMR for a couple of years. The vibrant colours and shaprness really impressed me compared to what I was getting with a Canon 1D MK II digital.

The vibrant colours and shaprness really impressed me compared to what I was getting with a Canon 1D MK II digital. Hi, I am very interested in an R9-DMR. At the moment I have a digilux 3 with R adapter and lenses. A major question. HOW HOW HOW do you manual focus so sharply on such fast moving subjects. Like the football? I am really struggling with it. In live view mode I have no problems, but the mirror up, down up make it all too slow for sports pics. It is easier on the R9-DMR???? Thanks Jason

Thanks Jason Manual focus just take practice and good eye-hand coordination. The R9 also has one of the best finders available, which makes focusing manually a bit easier than other recent SLRs. I use the focusing screen with the fresnel lenses in the center. With f2.8 and faster lenses, this screen works well for manual focusing. The image just pops into focus. JasonSF Posted October 17, 2007 Share #17 Posted October 17, 2007 Thanks for that, I have to say, the viewfinder is not great on the digilux 3. Live view is good but too slow. Is there anything available for the digilux 3 to make manual focusing easier? Cheers Jason
sdai Posted October 17, 2007 Share #18 Posted October 17, 2007 This one, together with your black cat and kids shots are some of the fantastic DMR samples on the web that got me into the setup, Rob. I will never get tired of seeing them again.
ruiespanhol Posted October 17, 2007 Share #19 Posted October 17, 2007 Well whit the quality of this pictures I can only say Leica only neads to put the sensor of the DMR inside of the R9 body and that´s the R10 digital. Whit this quality who cares whit more pixels and fullframe sensor? And Leica cam put this camera at one affodable price less of 4000 EUR on the market:) Best,
