Beware of buying an R 19mm Mk 2 without careful examination. Not a Schneider lens but can be prone to Schneideritis whereby the lens elements 'edge paint' around the elements' perimeters, 'flakes off' and migrates onto the actual elements' surfaces – where visible as flaky dust. My lens images OK even though the flaky dust is visible. Bought from a well known but now 'ceased trading' London dealer who likely knew about the anomaly but did not divulge same. Two or three weeks after purchase I received a phone call from the dealer asking, " ... just wondering if you are happy with the lens?"  Dealers do not usually 'follow up' s/h sales unless trying to sell another item – and when I purchased the item whoever I spoke with was a little hesitant when asked abut the condition – it appeared to be mint and boxed but I did not examine the interior against the light until maybe 2 or 3 months after purchase – and unlikely the edge paint flaking would have suddenly commenced on arrival to me.  The lens commands a premium s/h price because it's popular with videographers – so popular it's now listed at e.g. c. $4000 - $5000 on eBay and there's one listed by a UK dealer for £6500. Given its premium s/h price, I might decide to have my example dismantled, cleaned and the edge paint re-applied – but finding a skilled technician in the UK to attempt same and complete the job within a reasonable period of time is another matter. Despite its flaky dust, it's a superb distortion free optic – often used by me for architectural subjects (especially interiors) in preference to a shift lens.
