Dear Leica friends.
Myself and 2 more Leica shooters (also LUF members) will be visiting Naples in Italy from 12-16 February.
Except the flight that we already booked with Luxair, we have not yet decided where to stay and what to do.
So, we are know looking for some advice what what to see.
The best would be if we could meet with one or more local(s) that would show us around.
So, we are looking forward to receive some advice,

Greetings from Germany
John and friends

Go to Herculaneum before Pompeii. We were more impressed with the smaller, quieter neighbour, rather than the very touristy Pompeii. We used the narrow railway from Sorrento to visit, and went to H first. If we had stopped at P and explored there first, we would never have gone to H, and would have missed so much.

Be careful with your stuff.

Speaking about food...🍕

If you want to try one of the best Pizza of the world, try here: https://guide.michelin.com/en/campania/napoli/restaurant/da-michele Since 1870. They only have two types of Pizza: Margherita and Marinara... but hey, really delicious. My second wow choice, if you want a more complete Pizza menu, https://www.pellonepizzeria.it

This is my two cents as Italian, and former pizza maker 😉

Enjoy

When we visited our Italian exchange student in Napoli in 2007-2008 she indicated "Antica Pizzeria e Friggitoria Di Matteo" as the best a.o. for their fried pizza. Closely is also "Napoli Sotterranea" where you visit Napels from below where all the tuff-stone from which Napels is constructed was mined. Worth the visit if you have time as well as Capodimonte with its Museum. And if you ever get till Pozzuoli go and eat at "La locanda dei Lazzari di Filippo" for fresh seafood.

Many km outside Napoli, but if you have a car go here for original and delicious pizzas. 50km away so about an hour.
