robb Posted December 9, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 9, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I normally only buy RRS plates but it seems these are no longer made for the S1R… what does the group recommend? Robb
Advertisement Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Hi robb, Take a look here Tripod Plate for S1R. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Planetwide Posted December 9, 2022 Share #2 Posted December 9, 2022 If you can find an 8sinn L bracket, it is significantly lighter than the RRS bracket. Recommended

robb Posted December 12, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted December 12, 2022 It seems most of these plates are no longer available. Does anyone have a used L bracket for the S1R they would sell me? All the ones made in china on eBay are also not available even though they are listed there. This whole process of finding this is frustrating… thanks. douglas ball Posted December 15, 2022 Share #5 Posted December 15, 2022 Hello Rob I was able to buy a RRS L bracket for my S1-R shortly after it came out. Looking at it I see that the base plate stops just short of the door for the battery. You should be able to modify easily other plates, assuming the dimensions are right and simply cut off that portion of the plate. I have done this on other L brackets to adapt them to cameras they were not designed for. What I would look for is one that has the L portion adjustable, in and out.
smcmason Posted December 15, 2022 Share #6 Posted December 15, 2022 @robb Here is a link to one for $65 used. Looks like it is still available unless the seller just neglected to update the listing.
Babylonia Posted February 4, 2023 Share #7 Posted February 4, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) This subject is still not that old, so information could still be helpful for some Panasonic S1 / S1R users. Check on AliExpress. The following one is specially designed to open the battery door. When needing all side camera contacts for video, you can unscrew the side L part of the bracket. (As using for video normally you don't use a camera vertical). Still a fixed place as by registering pin / hole in the base plate.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000193718756.html I got a model from Amazon NL region - just a month ago or so. Still available at NL region now (4 feb. 2023). But seems not in stock for every international region. But still available for European regions (Germany - France). Maybe could be in stock again later in future for international regions? So I give some URL's. The Amazon model is more or less comparable as the AliExpress offer, but the one at AliExpress seems more light in weight, by more open parts within the base plate. The side L-part, by the open hole design, still the contacts behind the side big rubber door can be used (USB-C & HDMI), when using the camera horizontal. And the top contact for using a remote release, as it is just above the top edge of the L-part.https://www.amazon.nl/dp/B07V3578QZ https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07V3578QZ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V3578QZ In cases you are using the Panasonic camera for video (S1 model), there are also video rig "Box" models:https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004037571072.html
scrollt Posted February 6, 2023 Share #8 Posted February 6, 2023 I use the Rollei L bracket for the S1(R) which fits fine and was fairly cheap, but it looks like it's not available anymore 😕 I can only find a universal one now.
