eziomi Posted October 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) It’s probably a good idea to open a thread dedicated to all here who are using the M8 together with Apple computers and Aperture, in order to exchange opinions, comments and give/receive suggestions . This regarding topics like workflow, profiles (if any for Aperture), monitor calibration, plug-ins, etc. Let’s see how many people can contribute. Thanks in advance to all. lovelyleica Posted October 10, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 10, 2007 Here is something strange I could observe with Aperture : Leica M8 images are cropped by Aperture, pixels are missing around the image. Aperture : 2622 x 3904 Lightroom : 2634 x 3916 Capture One LE : 2634 x 3916
eziomi Posted October 10, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted October 10, 2007 Hi Ezio, You may want to browse this thread. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/30398-m8-apple-aperture-resource-info.html Hi Eoin: I was aware about your tread and I also made (one week ago) the changes to the raw.plist file as per your indications. You did a very good job ! I mostly like the "personal" profile. How do you explain the Aperture cropping as mentioned by Jean-Luc ? EM
Eoin Posted October 10, 2007 Share #5 Posted October 10, 2007 ....How do you explain the Aperture cropping as mentioned by Jean-Luc ? Ezio, I can't I have never noticed it until Jean Luc mentioned it. Perhaps you'll get a more qualified answer from apple tech support.
fastdap@mac.com Posted October 10, 2007 Share #6 Posted October 10, 2007 Just used Aperture for the first time shooting DNG+JPEG B&W. This may be a silly question but I can't seem to find the JPEGs? It doesn't seem that both are imported? Where are my JPEGs? I don't want to go through the exercise to convert the DNGs to B&W. Thank you in advance, Mark
Eoin Posted October 10, 2007 Share #7 Posted October 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know this one ! Mark if you import files via the standard import you'll only see the DNG master file in the browser but the Jpg is there. Go to the menu IMAGE, NEW VERSION FROM MASTER JPEG will show a version of the original Jpeg. The Best way I've found to import and show both DNG's and raws is to copy the files from the SD card to a folder called DNG's on my desktop, create a sub folder for Jpeg and move the Jpegs to that folder. Then in the aperture menu do FILE, IMPORT, FOLDERS INTO A PROJECT and you should end up with 2 automatic albums named DNG & Jpeg under the project with respective files showing in each. Hope that helps
