Herr Barnack Posted December 6, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) From The Eye of Photography, here's a short essay on the Q2 and a few images made by photographer Mathieu Lakoik. This essay is more along the lines of a little light reading than a master work, so take it for what it is. Perhaps the author's thoughts on the Q2 will be useful to those who may be pondering the purchase of a Q2 for themselves. Disclaimer: As we all know, the Q2 has a 47.3 mp sensor, not 42mp as stated. https://loeildelaphotographie.com/en/mpb-mathieu-lakoik-and-his-leica-q2/?utm_source=Liste+ODLP+nouvelle+version&utm_campaign=fbf0546bb0-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_12_05_04_16&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-fbf0546bb0-[LIST_EMAIL_ID]
Advertisement Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Hi Herr Barnack, Take a look here Mathieu Lakoik and his Leica Q2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Qwertynm Posted December 6, 2022 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2022 This reads more like an ad for MBP than a short essay on the Q2. We all know that it is small, weathersealed, has manual controls and is geared towards reportage. yawn.
Camaro5 Posted December 10, 2022 Share #3 Posted December 10, 2022 I just got back from Tampa/Clearwater and wanting to travel light I only took my Q2. I did everything with it -- sunrise & sunsets, some landscapes, beach shots, and some street. It handled everything great and never missed a shot. I don't necessarily think that it's geared towards reportage and find it to be quite versatile. The 28mm lens might be the only thing that holds it back a little but with 87mp images they can be easily cropped. I was using a 10.5" tablet for some basic editing so I shot both DNG and JPG. Even right out of the camera the JPG's were more than acceptable and with just the tablet and the Q2 it was enough to get some great shots and be able to make some editing adjustments on the fly.
