echorec Posted October 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have tried several CL cameras and have always felt that the light meter is a bit "optimistic" - leading to underexposed pictures. New, correct type batteries have been used. Anyone with similar experience or a clue what I might be doing wrong? I also have a beat-up M5 from the same era that always give perfect exposures. Thanks, Gunnar
Advertisement Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Hi echorec, Take a look here Leica CL light meter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted October 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 8, 2007 Yep, my CL also looks about 1,5 stop optimistic... I regularly act on the ASA setting to adjust... for what I remember, my one has always been so.. at least in the last 15 years...
echorec Posted October 8, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted October 8, 2007 Thanks for the quick reply Luigi. I will do as you do with the ASA dial. Best regards, Gunnar
steve kessel Posted October 8, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 8, 2007 Mine appears to over-expose, maybe 1-2 stops. I've only had the camera about 3 weeks, so I'm still feeling my way with it.
Guest Metroman Posted October 8, 2007 Share #5 Posted October 8, 2007 The cds cell only lasts 10-12 years so it is always worth having it replaced. I had my CL CLA'd/cell replaced and the difference was spectacular. A couple of previous links with info on the CL: Link One Link Two Incase you didn't know with the CL meter, above the center line is underexposure and below the line is overexposure! I wonder which 'bright spark' thought that would be a good idea But, it is a cracking little camera.
