Leica CL light meter

I have tried several CL cameras and have always felt that the light meter is a bit "optimistic" - leading to underexposed pictures. New, correct type batteries have been used. Anyone with similar experience or a clue what I might be doing wrong? I also have a beat-up M5 from the same era that always give perfect exposures.

Thanks,

Gunnar

The cds cell only lasts 10-12 years so it is always worth having it replaced. I had my CL CLA'd/cell replaced and the difference was spectacular.

A couple of previous links with info on the CL:

Incase you didn't know with the CL meter, above the center line is underexposure and below the line is overexposure!

I wonder which 'bright spark' thought that would be a good idea  But, it is a cracking little camera.
