TheEyesHaveIt Posted November 30, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 30, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I have used the Leica phone app in remote mode a few times to get critical focus. It’s pretty nice viewing the 6x zoom on the screen. Was wondering how the Visoflex is for critical focus applications in comparison? It’d be one more thing to carry but maybe also more convenient since it is attached to the camera. Cheers!
Advertisement Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Hi TheEyesHaveIt, Take a look here Visoflex vs Phone Remote App. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Gelatino Posted November 30, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 30, 2022 I use the Visoflex for precise focus, and /or in low light condition, and/or with a 21mm lens, and/or in very low 90° use. The App is only for remote use. On my phone the image size is only slightly larger than on the camera back screen so it adds nothing.
Siriusone59 Posted November 30, 2022 Share #3 Posted November 30, 2022 I use a visoflex for the same conditions as described by Gelatino, also for when using adapted tele lenses. I tried getting by with focusing via the rear screen or the phone app but the main reason I chose to purchase the visoflex was to eliminate the glare produced by bright sunlight that totally washes out the rear screen or a phone.

That is far too limiting for my use (wider than 28, longer than 75, handheld etc). Beside that... the Visoflex takes a fraction of the time to setup compared to the Leica Fotos app. Its always there if you need it. No comparison to me.

I had similar thoughts - you all have convinced me to grab the VF2!
