olzen911 Posted November 29, 2022 Share #1 Â Posted November 29, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hallo everyone quick question: compared to my Canon R5 i think the SL2 is really slow when you are in high drive mode. After very view photos, the cam requires time for writing to SD (black screen, blinking red LED). I ask myself if this this a compatibility issue w/ my Sandisk SD or different issue? thanks for your help! Â Â
Advertisement Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Hi olzen911, Take a look here SL2 - slow buffer?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Paul2660 Posted November 29, 2022 Share #2  Posted November 29, 2022 It may be the card. I would use the fastest card you have. I use the Lexar 2000x. Gold band on card. 128gb cards.  You might also try formatting the card in the camera. I have found that once I take a card out of the SL2 and put it in a reader, moving files off the card to computer. many time the card write time is considerable slower if I don’t reformat the card in camera. I also never format the card on Mac or PC as that seems to cause slow downs on card writes.  My work flow is after a days shoot, copy all files to Mac or PC, then place the card back in the camera and reformat it.  Paul
Photoworks Posted November 29, 2022 Share #3 Â Posted November 29, 2022 The canon Raw file size is 1/2 of the SL2 file size. Canon buffer can shoot 66-87 shoots to SD card. Â SL2 has 4GB buffer for 78 DNG
olzen911 Posted November 29, 2022 Author Share #4  Posted November 29, 2022 Thanks Paul & Photoworks, will try to re-format, maybe it doesn't like the Canon traces 🙂
