Samir Jahjah Posted October 5, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I purchased a Leica 28mm. I registered it for the 3-year passport warranty. In the returned mail, I received mu warranty card plus two vouchers for free coding. It seems the program has been extended! My 24 and 35 will go soon. Advertisement Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Hi Samir Jahjah, Take a look here A welcome surprise from Leica. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Shootist Posted October 5, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 5, 2007 Yeah that was supposed to end sometime at the end of April or May. Good for you. I still have about 4 vouchers and I just registered another new lens. So maybe they'll send me another 2 vouchers.
leicabug Posted October 5, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 5, 2007 Supposed to end June 30, 2007.
Jack MacDonough Posted October 6, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 6, 2007 I just sent my lenses for coding in ten days ago, as NJ said the extension on using the certificates was ending Sept 30, 3007. I'd call them before assuming your certificates still work.

I'd call them before assuming your certificates still work. I was told by Sara at Leica NJ the the vouchers are good forever. There was a cutoff date to get them with the purchase of a new lens but once you got them you could use them anytime. Maybe they extended the cutoff date to get them and that was what you were told. Surely the OP of this thread missed the original cutoff date to get them.

Even though Leica CRM mentioned it to me in a mail, I never got response how to get the vouchers. How about international branding? albert
Rubinger Posted October 6, 2007 Share #7 Posted October 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The voucher for free coding when purchasing an M-8 is news to me. I bought my M-8 in Vienna and was never offered this free-bee. Is it a new sales gimmick or did the dealer in Vienna fail to inform me ?
zeitz Posted October 6, 2007 Share #8 Posted October 6, 2007 The 2 vouchers are when a new lens is purchased, not when an M8 is purchased.
erl Posted October 6, 2007 Share #9 Posted October 6, 2007 Well I bought a new lens with my M8 but was offered nothing by anybody. Seems in light of this thread that there may be preferential treatment in certain countries! Does not make for good relations. A bonus coding cerificate would certainly make my smile readily available.

bill k Posted October 6, 2007 Share #11 Posted October 6, 2007 I also rec. 2 coupons in the mail yesterday. The expiration date was crossed out and the word "extended" was written. Problem might be the lenses I have are from the 60s and I don't think they will code them.I did e-mail them to see what gives...regards,Bill

They have a PDF documant listing all the older lenses that can be coded. About the only ones that can't, or won't, be coded by Leica are the ones that have integral bayonets (IE part of the body of the lens) or ones that have threads in the mount. endustry Posted October 7, 2007 Share #13 Posted October 7, 2007 Anyone know what the turn-around is on lens coding right now?
Jack MacDonough Posted October 7, 2007 Share #14 Posted October 7, 2007 NJ wrote that the turn around would be 3-6 weeks. I sent them in Sept 25th, I'll let you know when I get them back, a 35 1.4 and a 21 2.8.
