RicardoDalisay Posted November 18, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good day, I have a 2021 mac book pro and I bought a micro usb to usb type c hoping to transfer my images directly from the camera to my mac without pulling the SD card. When I plug in my camera, it charges it no problem, but when I turned on it does not see the camera. I tried this same exact cable in my windows laptop and it sees the samera and can transfer the images with no issues. oes anybody else expereinced this problem with the new M1 macs? Thank you. I also tried to use 2 different cables and 1 small adapter from USB A to USB C but still the same result. The only time my laptop recognizes the camera is when I am using a hub/dock and connecting my original cable (USB A) to the hub/dock. If the camera is directly connected to my macbook pro using a micro USB to Type c cable, my computer doesn't see the camera. Any thoughts on this? Side note, I also have a Sony FDR X3000, and my laptop can access the data on my action cam using all of the micro usb to type c cables that I tried. If you don't mind, what brand of cable are you using? Is it also a micro usb to USB C? Thanks. Ricardo
jaapv Posted November 22, 2022 Share #4 Posted November 22, 2022 So this is not a camera problem, but a cable problem. If you are on Mac use an original Apple cable, otherwise use a high quality bi-directional cable. Forget about adapters. In my experience they seldom work. RicardoDalisay Posted November 22, 2022 Author Share #5 Posted November 22, 2022 Thank you, Can you please specify the brand of a micro USB to USB C cable that you are using? I tried searching the Aple website but there is no such cable. The only ones that I know of are from Amazon, and I tried the top 2 cables (in terms of reviews) to no avail.
