No.  Seriously don’t do that.  It’s not the same effect and you’ll only be reducing your overall EV, requiring compensation and introducing a color cast to the raws.  If you want to use color filters, use a Monochrom or use the mono conversion sliders in your raw editor.

It does work in a way, but you will increase noise and reduce image quality. As you are shooting in colour anyway (just showing B&W by software) you get better results and more flexibility by applying virtual filters in postprocessing.
