yjt Posted November 10, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have 5 tiny dusts on the sensor on my Q. It's only visible F/8 or higher, and I typically shoot F2.8 or F4 as my max aperture. I emailed Leica for an estimate CLA cost and was quoted $550. It doesn't seem like a big deal because I can barely see the dust even at F/8. My question is if it's okay to just leave the dust on the sensor, or will that cause issues down the road if I don't clean it? I have tape on the ports on the camera already. Advertisement Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Hi yjt, Take a look here Can dust cause more problems down the road?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted November 10, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 10, 2022 There is no way that some dust on the sensor can harm the camera, it is just an annoyance that calls for extra work in postprocessing. Only have it cleaned if you cannot live with it. It comes to all cameras including fixed lens ones occasionally.
