Good afternoon all,

I know that a lot has already been written about the noise of the shutter so apologies for bring this back up 🙂

If have found that when turning the camera off the shutter closing sound is very quiet and delicate. When switching the camera on, however, it is a much louder (relative to that of closing). My question - the action is the same, just in reverse, so why is it that the two sounds noticeably different?

When opening all the blades are hitting the stop and when closing only one blade is bottoming out.

Kind of like opening vs closing a door, only in reverse.
