Marc B-C Posted November 12, 2022 Share #25 Posted November 12, 2022 (edited) @albert from the looks of that photo, your autofocus is not set. On my Q2 the AF should be directly above the vertical line. Press the little inset button on the manual focus grip and the ring will turn a little more to engage autofocus. I really thought you saved the day. Now, it still won’t autofocus unless I have the macro dots lined up. It will focus close up and on infinity and everything in between. ON MACRO !!??? To use Macro you have to twist the Macro ring all the way around until the word Macro appears under the dot and the ring turns no more. Macro also works only for the specific range of 17 to 30cm. This is all in the manual.
albert Posted November 12, 2022 Share #30 Posted November 12, 2022 Marc B-C. I thought when the two dots are lined up it is macro mode. When I line up the two dots I have autofocus all the way to infinity. If the dots are not lined up I do not have autofocus. Before these things started happening I had no infinity focus if the macro dots were lined up. Some is not correct. Don’t give up on me, please. No, when the two dots are lined up, it is not in Macro mode. When Macro is lined up with the dot, it is in Macro mode. With the dots lined up and the lens in proper autofocus per my note above, it is in standard mode 30cm to infinity.
Farrell Gallery Posted November 12, 2022 Share #32 Posted November 12, 2022 Do a newspaper test, and note where your focus was on each.
luetz Posted November 12, 2022 Share #33 Posted November 12, 2022 The first image shows that the Focus Ring is not locked into position. The ing has a small button that needs to be pushed in to allow it to lock to AF. At that time The AF will align with the centre vertical line below it , perfectly. When properly locked you can not turn the focussing ring.
