Inspired by this video by Lindsay Adler (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1ImOF0nOXg) I did a little project in my improvised home studio today. I usually don't do “Selfies“, but I was a bit ill and was bored, so here we are. I can't compete with the nice model Lindsay had, but I still had a lot of fun fiddling with the light setup and getting close to the idea with what little equipment I had at my disposal.

Setup:
Main Light: Beauty Dish with grid
“Hair“(😂)-Light: Softbox with grid
Background: Speedlight
SL2s, 90mm Summicron SL with 1/4 Black Mist Filter

Excellent.  We'll contact Central Casting and have them send you over.

If you want to make these feel like old Hollywood noire I'd increase the contrast.

Thanks! I tried around with contrast and tone curves quite a lot. More contrast got me closer to the look Lindsay Adler ends up with in her tutorial, but I personally preferred the slightly faded look. More old-timey 🙃
