Paul Hart Posted September 26, 2007 Share #21 Posted September 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought a pair of Nikons from them some time ago. They were extremely helpful, down-to-earth people and I check their stock weekly. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Their condition rating system (x%) is reliable, too. Sobieski Posted October 27, 2007 Share #27 Posted October 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Expensive when compared to the US, as are most things in the UK. Superficially true, but MWC are very cheap compared to almost every other UK dealers. I have bought a lot of cameras and lenses from them over the past few years, with zero problems. Highly recommended.

eyedeebee Posted January 20, 2008 Share #29 Posted January 20, 2008 I'm up to the Big Smoke soon for a visit with the kids to the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum - should I, ahem, get lost and happen to pass MW or The Classic Camera does anyone know if they are open on Sundays - both websites seem to be lacking the info!! Not sure about The Classic Camera but MW is an Internet outfit. I think they are based out of London in deepest Essex! If you are going in the Classic Camera direction don't for get Aperture who are just round the corner and are, I think, open on Sundays - best to call them to check. That would explain the lack of opening times then! Just looked at the Aperture site - seems to be a bit cheaper than The Classic Camera. Thanks. andybarton Posted January 20, 2008 Share #35 Posted January 20, 2008 Classic Camera in Pied Bull Yard is not the same outfit as the MW Classic Camera as far as I know. The one in Pied Bull Yard is the one that looks as if you have just trodden in something nasty as you walk in, and find it difficult to get up off their backsides to help you. Just looked at the Aperture site - seems to be a bit cheaper than The Classic Camera. Thanks. Aperture (owner Patrick and assistant Chris) are excellent to deal with. I have bought (and sold) several items from them. Fair prices and no quibbles re warranty etc. Good coffee and snacks as well!

Great - sounds just like the sort of shop you'd want to go and spend a few hundred quid in!! I've heard similar comments before - looks like I'll favour Aperture! uwe zankl Posted January 20, 2008 Share #39 Posted January 20, 2008 Hello I bought my black III from MW, it was as described but turned out to really good inside. The curtains are in top notch shape. I cleaned up the outside and it now looks great. Once I have gotten it CLAed it will become a user. Paid 79£ for it, in Germany you can not find a working black III for that money...I am now looking to get another lens from them. The service was good but delayed due to the Christmas break. cheers Uwe
plasticman Posted January 20, 2008 Share #40 Posted January 20, 2008 The Classic Camera in Pied Bull Yard - I went in there when I was last in London hoping to hunt down a 35 Summilux that I'd seen on their website. One guy on the computer, the other on the phone. Neither of them even looked up while I stood for a few minutes beside the counter, patiently waiting. Sometimes it's fun to see how rude people can be - if you enjoy that experience I can recommend The CC. They lost my sale anyway.
