The listed UK price includes VAT? I’ve never purchased from UK. I assumed it worked like US where the tax is not included in the list price. So that is what I didn’t understand, if my statement is correct.

Yes, it includes VAT for domestic buyers.  In the UK tax is included in all the prices that you see as there is one tax rate - VAT.  We in the US do not pay that.  That is why I paid $4294.65, shipped, for a brand spankin new M6.

Did you get it from the main UK Leica site? Any idea when it would ship? I might be doing this too….

One thing to consider is if you live in a state with local state tax, U.S. Customs shares import values to state tax authorities on imports over $2500. This is different from import duties as it's state + municipal sales tax. In California for example you'll get a "Use Tax owed" letter from CDTFA for all imported goods after the end of the tax year. This can be close to 10% of the value of all imported items. Sometimes this can even happen a few years later and if you didn't volunteer to pay the "out of state purchase sales tax" at the time of tax filing, you get hit with the penalties and interest too.

If you buy the camera with a B&H Payboo card you pay the sales tax (and thus fulfill local tax obligations) but the card refunds you the same amount on the bill. So all said and done the savings might amount to about $500 when importing vs buying locally from B&H with Payboo.

I'm in the market for the new M6 but I think I'd prefer to buy within the US as it would be a huge pain to ship the camera back and do an exchange on an imported camera (and deal with customs / state tax implications) if you receive it with any issues.
