framelines with an uncoded M-lens on an M10monochrom

Hello, I would thank for help in the following: I have just purchased a summilux 1,4-50 non-coded (so an older version). The reference number ant type of this lens is listed and chosen in the menu of lens detection-manual. So it recognizes the lens in the EFIX and menu.. However, the FRAMELINES do not change in the viewfinder (the optical, not the live view which I do not use). The frame line selector (left to the lens on the camara), continues as disabled showing the frame lines for (I think) a 21mm. I can still use the frame line selector (by pulling outwards the objective -something relatively difficult), but it does not show the frame line for a 50mm lens. I have read in some topic here, that the codification is not relevant for the actual framlines recognition (in a post called lens detection) as this is a mechanical matter -so I am wondering if I am doing something wrong when putting the lens on, or perhaps my camara has some mechanical issue. Hope to have been able to explain the issue. Sorry if I may use some wrong terminology, as I am not familiar with this in English. Thank you for a help.

First make sure you just let the lens click into position, so don't hold the lens release button down while mounting the lens. Whatever else that follows, does it now work, doesn't it work, can now be considered knowing the lens is correctly mounted.

Thank you, 250swb! Yes I have checked that and it has made the typical "click" showing it is mounted. however, I will later try to put it again (just not the camera with me) and perhaps it was just half the click. Thank you.

Hello 250swb! Indeed, I have re-checked now and indeed, the click was now a proper click and now the frame lines are correctly set to 50mm framing in my view finder and also now the frame line selector is not to the left but has a normal position and can be used towards the objective. So problem solved thanks to your help. THANK YOU!

Might as well say it explicitly: Frame line selection on the Leica M cameras has nothing to do with the lens codes at all. It is a mechanical system that dates to the first Leica M3.  Any proper M-mount lens should always trigger the frame line selection mechanism for its correct frame lines if the lens is properly mounted and there is no fault in the frame line selection mechanism itself, a very rare occurrence!
