Advertisement Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here Liverpool skyline.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted September 23, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted September 23, 2007 It ain't what it used to be, that's for sure. Which is good, mostly. Â How do you do do your b&w conversions?
elansprint72 Posted September 23, 2007 Author Share #3 Â Posted September 23, 2007 Â How do you do do your b&w conversions? Â Sometimes indifferently. This one was shot as a hi-qual jpeg and just converted to greyscale in PSE4. I'm determined to shoot more directly in B&W and RAW; I've been lazy up to now but I think that I should get a bit more serious and treat the D2 as a B&W cam and see where it leads. andybarton Posted September 23, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted September 23, 2007 If you are going to shoot for B&W you should definitely shoot RAW IMHO. (Ditto colour ) Â Does PSE4 have a "Channel Mixer" adjustment option?
dhsimmonds Posted September 23, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted September 23, 2007 Nice image Pete with a typical (this summer anyway) English sky.
huwge Posted September 23, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted September 23, 2007 So you don't have to go to Ireland for clouds? Nice BW conversion Pete.
elansprint72 Posted September 23, 2007 Author Share #7 Â Posted September 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks folks; I think the Irish ferry brought the clouds:) Â Don't think that PSE4 has a channel mixer, whatever that is. azzo Posted September 23, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted September 23, 2007 A really nice capture Pete and I think Andy's on to something ! I believe that there's more excellent light and tonality to come out here, enhancing it even more than already is. IMO. Â Azzo
Chuckcars Posted September 24, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted September 24, 2007 So sharp it hurts! BW is well done no matter how you did it. Personally, I like C1 and RAW.
