ChrisChan Posted October 14, 2022 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just purchased Q2 for few days and have taken some photos in the night. Everything is fine except reflections found in some night shoots. The 'reflections' appeared frequently. I used to install a filter for lens protection and try 2 different type ( both are B+W, 010 and UV/IR cut) the issue remains. Any recommendations to solve the issue or other filters as I prefer to have for protection? Thx! Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Hi ChrisChan, Take a look here Q2 internal reflection. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Tom Johnston Posted October 25, 2022 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2022 I had this occur as well, usually in low light. didn't notice it at first as illustrated in this image. I first noticed this phenomena with my M9 and 28 Summicron, shooting at night. https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/303026-leica-q2-images-post-them-here/?do=findComment&comment=4469398 guess the sensors are so sensitive that they can sometimes capture reflections on the filter? You should never use an IR cut filter on a current digital camera – IR and UV are cut by a filter over the sensor of all digital cameras. In any case, sometimes you have to remove your clear filter if you get reflections like this.
